The next belt promotional exam will be Saturday, September 16th. If you cannot make it or have any questions, please get ahold of us as soon as possible to make special arrangements.
Colored Belt Test
As of this writing we have approximately 15 students who are either eligible, or nearly eligible to test September 16th.
Last week, we started handing out test papers. Please see Miss Amanda or Master Nick SOON if you still need a test paper. Those papers are due back by Thursday night at the latest. If you have any areas that you feel you need work on, please let us know and we will try to cover those areas in class. Finally, all students are welcome to come to additional classes during the run up to the test – we would much rather you feel confident and prepared.
As of this writing, we one test group starting at 10 am on Saturday, September 16th. Some of you do not have as much material to cover, and we will be letting ranks go as they finish their material and talk to their black belt.
As always, please remember:
- Arrive by 9:30
- Wear your full white uniform (including pants and jacket). Green belts on up should have patches on their uniforms.
- Bring your sparring gear and weapons appropriate to forms
Since weather is still warm, I also recommend that you begin training in your full uniform if you are used to only wearing a school t-shirt. Your uniform can feel much warmer, and you don’t want to run into a surprise on the test!
As always, we invite students who have reached RED STRIPES and UP sit on the testing board for the Second Group if they are available. This is a good opportunity to advance your training, as well another event to put on your résumé’s for Black Belt
Black Belt Pre-Test
Speaking of material that would look good on a black belt résumé, our next black belt pre-test is also on September 16th starting at 2:30 pm.
Please arrive no later than 2 pm with your full uniform, weapons, and sparring gear.
Cookie Dough Sale
As a reminder, our cookie dough sale is up and running. While the cookie dough sale is completely optional, you are all encouraged to participate.
For each unit of cookie dough sold, you receive 5 dragon dollars which can be used like cash in our pro-shop towards belt tests, sparring gear, tournament, t-shirts, weapons, and events.
The final day to get cookie dough orders back to us is Friday, September 29th along with 1 check written to Elkhorn Flying Dragons. We anticipate the cookie dough will be delivered
