What the Governor’s New Order Means for Us

Hello Flying Dragons!

Yesterday Governor Evers issued an order limiting the size of indoor gatherings.  The order, effective Thursday at 8 a.m., limits indoor public gatherings to no more than 25% of a room or building’s total occupancy.  So what does that mean for us?  I decided to find out by contacting the Elkhorn Fire Department.  The chief told me the occupancy capacity is calculated by multiplying the length of the room by the width of the room, then dividing by seven.  So if we just calculate capacity of our matted area, that would be 52 ft. X 38 ft. ÷ 7 = 282 people.  Limiting  capacity tp 25% would be 70 people.  We currently only have 33 spots on the floor and we don’t fill them all.  This puts us well under the limits of the order.  As a result, we will continue classes as we have been, observing COVID precaution.

Stay Safe,

The Perks
